NOTICE OF CONSIDERATION AND ADOPTION
JANUARY 4, 2016
Notice is hereby given that the Longboat Key Town Commission will consider Resolution 2016-01, on January 4, 2016, at 7:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as possible, at a Regular Meeting of the Town Commission in the Commission Chamber at Town Hall, 501 Bay Isles Road, Longboat Key, Florida.
A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN OF LONGBOAT KEY, FLORIDA AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF not to exceed $25,250,000 IN AGGREGATE PRINCIPAL AMOUNT OF TOWN OF LONGBOAT KEY, FLORIDA SPECIAL ASSESSMENT REVENUE BONDS, SERIES 2016 (GULF OF MEXICO DRIVE UNDERGROUNDING PROJECT) FOR THE PURPOSE OF financing thE COSTS OF UNDERGROUNDING ELECTRICAL, COMMUNICATIONS, FIBER OPTICS AND OTHER UTILITIES AND INSTALLATION OF STREET LIGHTING RELATING TO GULF OF MEXICO DRIVE; PROVIDING THAT SUCH BONDS SHALL BE LIMITED OBLIGATIONS OF THE TOWN PAYABLE SOLELY FROM NON-AD VALOREM SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS IMPOSED AGAINST REAL PROPERTY THROUGHOUT THE TOWN AND A BACKUP COVENANT TO BUDGET AND APPROPRIATE LEGALLY AVAILABLE NON-AD VALOREM REVENUES OF THE TOWN; PROVIDING FOR THE RIGHTS, SECURITIES AND REMEDIES FOR THE OWNER OF SUCH BONDS; MAKING CERTAIN COVENANTS AND AGREEMENTS IN CONNECTION THEREWITH; AUTHORIZING A BOND VALIDATION; AUTHORIZING CERTAIN OFFICIALS AND EMPLOYEES OF THE TOWN TO TAKE ALL ACTIONS REQUIRED IN CONNECTION WITH THE SALE, ISSUANCE AND DELIVERY OF such BONDS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
All interested persons may appear and be heard with respect to the proposed Resolution. Copies of the proposed Resolution and related material may be viewed at the Office of the Town Clerk, 501 Bay Isles Road, Monday through Friday, between 8:30 AM and 5:00 PM, prior to the public hearing. No verbatim record by a certified court reporter is made of these proceedings. Accordingly, any person who may seek to appeal any decision involving the matters noticed herein will be responsible for making a verbatim record of the testimony and evidence at these proceedings upon which any appeal is to be based (see Section 286.0105, F.S.).
