2015 Drinking Water Quality Report
2015 Consumer Confidence Report
The Town of Longboat Key’s Consumer Confidence Report announcing the status of the Town’s water quality for the period of January through December 2015 is now available online at www.longboatkey.org/2015waterreport. All Longboat Key water consumers are encouraged to access and read this report. The report may also be downloaded and printed by any property manager on the Key for distribution or posting at their facility.
This year’s Consumer Confidence Report includes additional testing of our water supply under the Third Unregulated Contaminant Monitoring Rule (UCMR3). The UCMR3 monitoring was required to take place between 2013 – 2015 and included 28 chemicals, two viruses and seven hormones using an EPA-approved analytical method. The Town of Longboat Key took quarterly samples within a 12-month period during 2015 to fulfill this requirement. The results of this Longboat Key data collection is presented in the 2015 Drinking Water Quality Report.
Previous years’ annual drinking water quality reports were mailed directly to the Town’s water consumers. Current legislation now permits the Town to save the cost of printing and mailing in lieu of posting the report online. Copies of the report are also available for pickup at Town Hall, 501 Bay Isles Road or Public Works, 600 General Harris Street or can be requested by calling Public Works at 941-316-1988.
