The Town developed and has begun activation of the approximately 4.81-acre Town-owned site located at 600 Bay Isles Road into an outdoor venue to support a variety of Town and community-wide events. The Town originally purchased three parcels that comprise the overall site in the total amount of $3.7 million.

 The Town Commission approved a site plan for the development of the site.  Phase 1 improvements included site work and demolition of the former Amore’ restaurant building in 2019.  Phase 2 construction began in the fall of 2022 with the grand opening event held February 11, 2023.  Improvements include:

•  Elevated site
• Hard surface walkaways and evening lighting
• Landscaping
• Space for food trucks with provision for power (along the esplanade)
• Stormwater management to include future Phase 3
• The Karon Family Pavilion (with restrooms)
• Buildable areas for future Phase 3 build-out

In partnership with Sarasota County, a new Public Library is being planned for Phase 3. Community input meetings will take place in 2024.
