It is unlawful for any person to have in their possession any alcoholic beverage on any Town-owned properties within the Town. This does not apply to official Town functions specifically approved by the Town Manager or to parties under contract with the Town for special events.

No person shall take, or cause to take, trap, net, remove or disturb the plants and animals located within parks or estuaries within the parks or other public property of the Town of Longboat Key. This does not prohibit fishing or cast nets thrown from the shore of the town parks into the waters of the bay, pass or gulf.

Prohibited Activities in Joan M. Durante Park

No person entering on and using the public property known as Joan M. Durante Park shall do any of the following:

  • Bed down on the premises; i.e., set up tents, shacks, or any other temporary shelter for the purpose of camping.
  • Engage in the activity of skateboarding.
  • Engage in the activity of roller-blading.
  • Bring a bicycle into the pavilion or engage in bicycling on the handicap ramp.
  • Be present on the premises from dusk to dawn daily.

Restricted Activities in the Quick Point Nature Preserve and Overlook Park

  • The Quick Point Nature Preserve and Overlook Park shall be closed for public use between the hours of 11:00 p.m. through 5:00 a.m.
  • No parking of motor vehicles will be allowed in the Quick Point Nature Preserve or Overlook Park between the hours of 11:00 p.m. through 5:00 a.m.
  • No overnight camping is permitted in the Quick Point Nature Preserve and Overlook Park.
  • Drinking, consuming or possessing alcoholic beverages is prohibited in the Quick Point Nature Preserve and Overlook Park.
  • No promotional or commercial activities of any kind may occur within Quick Point Nature Preserve or Overlook Park without first obtaining permission in writing from the Town Manager.
  • Pets, other than animals utilized for assisting persons with disabilities, are prohibited on the premises of Quick Point Nature Preserve and Overlook Park.
  • Fires, other than those contained in grills designed for cooking, are prohibited on the premises of Quick Point Nature Preserve and Overlook Park.
