All purchasing activities are performed in accordance with applicable Town ordinances, policies and procedures to afford equal opportunity for vendors to compete in the bidding and quoting process. The Purchasing Division acts as a liaison between vendors and Town Departments and agencies. The goal of the Purchasing Division is to procure goods and services at the lowest cost, through impartial selection, using logical business practices that result in the best interest of the Town.

Sales Visits

Sales representatives are a valuable resource for obtaining specifications and information on product advancements. The Town values your visits; and the Purchasing Manager in the Purchasing Division is available to discuss issues dealing with Procurement. It is recommended that all new vendors visit the Purchasing Division. This will assure that we know about your product(s) or service. Please call for an appointment prior to your visit.

The Town of Longboat Key uses Demand Star to automatically notify potential bidders of advertisements, distribution of bid documents and addendums, bid recaps, bid award recommendations, and bid awards.
